Probe clears commissioner of conflict of interest

An investigation has cleared a Burnet County commissioner of failure to properly document conflict of interest reports in vote abstentions. San Saba Assistant County Attorney Russ Baker recently exonerated Burnet County Precinct 2 Commissioner Damon Beierle from allegations he may have violated local government conflict of interest laws during his ser- vice on the court last year.

San Saba Assistant County Attorney Russ Baker recently exonerated Burnet County Precinct 2 Commissioner Damon Beierle from allegations he may have violated local government conflict of interest laws during his ser- vice on the court last year.

“I am declining to prosecute Commissioner Beierle for an offense under the local government code,” according to the May 6 letter Baker sent to Burnet County Attorney Eddie Arredondo.
