Technicality drowns bill against quarry permits

Recently, one critical bill proposed to impose new regulations in Burnet County related to permits for facilities that produce or crush aggregate failed to pass parliamentary muster. During the ongoing-Texas Legislature 89th regular session, state representatives Terry Wilson (HD- 20), John Bryant (HD-114), Ellen Troxclair (HD-19) filed House Bill 5151 to regulate rock pits and quarries – specificially around two state parks and a children’s camp on Lake LBJ.
