Defeat of quarry bill does not end the fight

Dear Editor;

We are disappointed but not defeated about what happened in the State House last Thursday regarding HB 5151 co-sponsored by Rep. Terry Wilson and Rep. Ellen Troxclair to stop the rock crusher plant from being built next to Camp Longhorn here in Burnet County.

The bill died on a point of order from Democrat Representative Terry Canales from Edinburg. Representative Troxclair quickly filed an amendment to the bill to address his concerns, asked for a vote on the revised bill, and it passed.
