Mary Ann Jones

Mary Ann (Gerould) Jones, known as MiMi to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at home on May 21, 2025. She was born in Summit, NJ on September 22, 1937, to Walter and Hanna Gerould.

Mary Ann (Gerould) Jones, known as MiMi to her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her loving family at home on May 21, 2025. She was born in Summit, NJ on September 22, 1937, to Walter and Hanna Gerould.

Mary Ann grew up in Longmeadow, MA, and spent many years in Conroe, TX before moving to the Joppa Community in Burnet County, Texas, in the early 1990’s. She loved the Lord and was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Bertram, where she volunteered, served as the financial secretary and sang in the choir for many years. She loved golfing, fishing, hunting, bunco, taking care of the ranch, the Aggies, and spending time with her family and friends.

An avid educator for over 30 years, Mary Ann was passionate about helping struggling students. She taught elementary school, read allowed to students in classrooms, and served on the BCISD school board for 13 years. Throughout her career, she received many awards and played a key role in helping BCISD accomplish many goals, including enhancing school safety, increasing staff pay scales, and establishing several new programs such as soccer and engineering.

Mary Ann was recently awarded 2025 Hall of Honor

She was preceded in death by the love of her life, Delver “Sammy” Jones. Mary Ann is survived by her son Andrew Corbin Jones and his wife Amy, and Gary Vernon Jones and his wife Krista; grandchildren Chelsea, Haley and husband Taylor Hayes, Logan, Kaleb, Kameron, Dawson, and Sammy; and her greatgrandchildren Hadley, Brock, and Grayson.

Services will be held at 10:00 am on Saturday June 7, 2025 at the First United Methodist Church of Bertram. The family will receive friends after the services at Mary Ann’s home. In lieu of flowers, if you would like to offer a donation, please donate to the charity of your choice. Arrangements entrusted to Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet and flowers provided by Flowers by Randi in Burnet.
