Storm fails to dampen spirits of Burnet High Class of 2025

The Burnet High School graduation ceremony on May 22 was moved to the main gym due to weather conditions.

Because the gymnasium had a smaller seating capacity than the stadium, overflow guests were accommodated in the auditorium, where the ceremony was live-streamed.

The doors were opened at 7:45 p.m. with the ceremony starting at 8:30 p.m. about 30 minutes later than scheduled. Nearly 200 graduating seniors walked the stage.

Speeches were given by valedictorian Brooklynn Daniel, salutatorian Victor Aviles and senior class president Marguerite Reed to inspire the graduates.

Faculty also offered words of encouragement.
