The Burnet County Commissioners recently announced the county transportation plan is going to get an update.
“We really have not done a thorough update to our transportation plan since 2010,” Pct. 4 Commissioner Joe Don Dockery said during the May 27 meeting.
The Capital Area Metropolitan Organization (CAMPO) will facilitate the revised plan at no cost to the county, Dockery added.
“It is needed,” Pct. 3 Commissioner Chad Collier said.
CAMPO representatives will implement the revision schedule during upcoming weeks, County Judge Bryan Wilson said.
“It will be a very intense, public-involved process,” Wilson added.
Stringtown Cemetery Turning to other matters, the commissioners agreed to accept the deed of a little more than 1 acre gifted by Albert D. Downing to help preserve the Stringtown Cemetery near Bertram at CR 326A.

“It is a fascinating history,” Wilson said. “I look forward to working with the commission.”
