Thick black smoke from a commercial tire operation fire in Burnet prompted temporary evacuation of nearby businesses and residences on Texas 29 East on June 30.
Although “contained” the fire was still smoldering through July 2 and could be seen and smelled for miles.
Crews from around the area responded to the scene around 5:15 p.m. that Monday of Reliable Tire Disposal in the 3300 block of East Texas 29, within the Burnet city limits.
