The Old Joppa Bridge was destroyed by flash flooding July 5 as runoffs from a storm deluge raced into the San Gabriel River in Burnet County.

The bridge was located east of a newer bridge on County Road 200.

Burnet County officials shared video footage of the bridge being slammed by high water, breaking apart and them floating away Only support piers remained where the structure once stood.
