Reading of founding documents unites community

On July 3, Burnet County officials embarked on a tradition which involved inspiring community members to assist in the reading the Declaration of Independence.

Due to inclement weather, the event was moved from the outdoor Veterans Memorial to inside of the courthouse.

Members of the public defender’s office, city and county employees as well as elected officials lined up in front of the judge’s bench and invited audience members to join them in the reading.
