One hard rain battered Burnet County about two weeks ago.

Recently, County Emergency Management Coordinator Derek Marchio estimated flash flooding caused by the July 4 storm has affected more than 400 homes and caused damage estimated at more than $5 million.

“We are moving forward with recovery,” Marchio told the Burnet County commissioners July 15. “We have a long way to go.”
