In the days following the devastating floods, the Burnet FFA showed up in full force to lend a hand wherever it was needed— offering their time, strength, and compassion to help community members, local businesses, and landowners recover.

On July 7, FFA members helped sort through flood-damaged photos and assisted a woman in Oak Vista with moving belongings from her home. By July 8, they were at the Highlander Restaurant, cleaning and scraping floors in an effort to get the local business back on its feet.

The following days saw even more boots on the ground. On July 10, students handed out much-needed supplies to flood victims at Oak Street. On July 11, they cleared railroad ties for Calvin Jones. And on July 12, they spent the day fixing fences at the Lewis LLC Ranch and clearing brush to restore fencing at Mrs. Holbrook’s property.
