A multiple vehicle collision resulted in the death of five people July 25 on U.S. 281 between Burnet and Marble Falls.
According to the Department of Public Safety, a pickup truck hauling a livestock trailer collided with two vehicles, including an SUV.
“Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) Troopers responded to a fatal crash that occurred on July 25, 2025, at approximately 6:00 p.m. on US 281 near Park Road 4 in Burnet County,” said DPS Sgt. Billy Ray III in a statement. “Preliminary investigation indicates that a 2018 RAM 4500 truck pulling a livestock trailer was trav- eling northbound on US 281 when it crossed into the southbound lanes and struck a Chevrolet Malibu head-on.
