State park Friends ramp up volunteer program
This program welcomes individuals of all interests and backgrounds – be they hunters, anglers, kayakers, hikers, bird enthusiasts, or local residents eager to delve into the park’s geological formations, local and migratory bird species, or aquatic life.

A state park in the Hill Country wants to share nature with a few good volunteers.

Inks Lake State Park, in collaboration with the Friends of Inks Lake State Park is hosting a volunteer recruitment event.

This event aims to welcome those who have considered contributing their time but have been unsure of how to get started.

Find out how to volunteer at Inks Lake State Park on Sunday, February 15, at 2 p.m. to 5 p.m at the Inks Lake State Park Headquarters 3480 Park Rd 4 West.

Active volunteers will share their love of volunteering in the Park and how to sign up. Followed by a tour of the park. Email friendsofinks@ yahoo.com to RSVP.

This is an excellent opportunity to engage. Opportunities for both children and adults include trail maintenance, educational programs featuring authentic animal specimens, paddling excursions, special events, invasive species management, supervision of the bird blind, fundraising initiatives and more.

There exists a meaningful role for everyone interested in volunteering at Inks Lake State Park.

This event is free for anyone 12 and older.
