The FAA has announced scheduled GPS interference testing centered near Fort Hood from Feb. 2-27, 2026.
During certain times on these dates, GPS signals across parts of Central Texas may be unreliable or temporarily unavailable due to planned military testing.
This could impact GPS navigation, aviation systems, and other technologies that rely on location or timing. Residents and businesses that depend on GPS are encouraged to plan ahead and use alternate navigation methods when possible. This is a known, intentional test — not an emergency or cyber incident.
