As summer begins settling into Burnet, our community calendar remains full of the things that make Burnet special — celebrations of growth, opportunities to gather together, moments to recognize excellence, and reminders of the deep connections that hold this community together through the seasons.
The chamber is especially proud to recognize Burnet CISD Student of the Year, Miley Evans. The Student of the Year award exists to recognize students who are making a meaningful impact in our Burnet community as a leader and citizen. It honors young people who lead by example, invest in others, and reflect the values that strengthen our community. Burnet is fortunate to have many remarkable students who are grateful for the educators, mentors, families, and community members helping shape future leaders right here at home.
This year the Burnet Chamber of Commerce Student of the Year is Miley Evans. Miley represents the very best of Burnet’s next generation of community leaders — demonstrating strong character, work ethic, service, and a commitment to both her school and community. Miley stands out not only for her accomplishments in FFA and through her impactful volunteer efforts, but also for the way she represents our community with humility and determination.
Finally, we encourage everyone to join the VFW and the Burnet Rotary Club for Burnet’s Memorial Day events and parade on Monday, May 25, as we come together to honor and remember those who served our country. Memorial Day serves as an important reminder that the freedoms and opportunities we enjoy every day came at a tremendous cost, and we are grateful to all those who made that sacrifice in service to our nation.
In Burnet, one of the things that makes this community unique is the way we continue showing up for one another — in celebration and in service.
