Rural Capital Area Workforce Solutions is offering apprenticeship and training programs for career opportunities for plumbing, electric and HVACR (air conditioning, heating and refrigeration systems) technicians.
Job assistance is provided for new applicants to the trades and working apprentices.
Working apprentices and new applicants to the trades can join the Department of Labor Apprenticeship Program to enhance knowledge and skills to apply on the job.
Electrical 1 and 2
Eligible adults will receive a Reinvest Grant to pay for training costs for Electrical 1, Sept. 9 through Dec. 16, Mondays, 6-9 p.m. plus three hours of self-study per week and Electrical 2 from Jan. 6, 2025 through May 5, 2025, Mondays, 6-9 p.m. plus three hours self-study per week.
Plumbing 1 and 2
Plumbers can earn credit for up to 1,000 onthe- job training hours toward licensing; employer sponsorship is required and job assistance is provided for new applicants. Plumbing 1 is offered from Sept. 9 to Dec. 16 on Mondays, 5:30-8:30 p.m. plus three hours of selfstudy a week. Plumbing 2 will be held Jan. 6, 2025 to May 5, 2025, Mondays, 5:30-8:30 p.m.;
HVACR
A Reinvest grant pays tuition for eligible adults, working apprentices and new applicants to the HVAC trade, installation, maintenance, and repair of air conditioning, heating and refrigeration systems. HVAC 1 classes are from Sept. 11 to Dec. 16, Wednesdays from 6-9 p.m. plus three hours of self-study each week and HVAC 2 from Jan. 8, 2025. to April 30, 2025, plus three hours of selfstudy each week.
