Superintendent BCISD

As we settle into the new school year, I want to take a moment to share some exciting updates and important reminders with you.

Instructional Emphasis Our district is committed to creating instructional environments that align with state standards while encouraging students to take ownership of their learning and stay engaged.

We are focused on building systems that ensure every student makes progress toward or fully achieves grade-level performance.

A key component of this effort is our Professional Learning Communities (PLC) process, where educators collaborate regularly to analyze student data, share effective teaching strategies, and continuously refine their practices to meet the diverse needs of our students.

This year, we are implementing the necessary systems and setting clear expectations to reach these goals.

Please watch the slightly longer than usual August Monthly Minute Message for more information on this district initiative.

Free Breakfast, Lunch I want to remind everyone that all students in BCISD are eligible for free breakfast each school day.

This program ensures that every child has the opportunity to start their day with a nutritious meal. Additionally, all elementary students receive free lunch, so I encourage you to take full advantage of these offerings to support your child’s well-being.

Here are the Staff Shout Outs for the Month of August: From: Burnet CISD Employee To: Kyle Stewart, Technology

“He created a spreadsheet for admin to use here at Bertram that helped us track employees, room numbers, extensions, intercom numbers, devices and so much more.

He jumped on every single ticket that came through even after a long day of moving equipment. He made sure to stop and talk to every returning and new teacher about any IT issues. Kyle has really helped make the transition from summer break to ‘schools in session’ seamless. Thank you.”

From: Burnet CISD Employee To: Aidan Callahan, Burnet High School

“Mr. Callahan works extremely hard to make sure students are placed with the best possible teachers for their specific needs. He is thinking strategically and outside the box to promote student growth!”

From: Burnet CISD Employee To: Kyle Stewart & Brady Rowe, Technology “They are outstanding Technology staff members and are an asset to this district. They are always willing to help out and always in a timely manner.”

From: Burnet CISD Employee To: Josie Chapa & Elisabeth Yantos Jones, RJ Richey Elementary “These two ladies did not hesitate for a minute when it came to sharing their third grade ELA expertise. They are fostering a culture of collaboration across the district campuses and are walking examples of ONE Team, ONE Dream! Thank you both so much! You are amazing and make a big difference to those new to the teaching profession!”
