On Tuesday of last week Burnet’s cross country teams traveled to Marble Falls to participate in the 24-4A District meet with tickets to regionals on the line. Burnet had several top performances and numerous runners set new personal best times in route to two teams advancing.

“With new UIL alignment this year, we have one of the toughest districts in the region,” said Burnet head cross country coach Kristi Jones. “We are so proud of the way that this group of student-athletes represents Burnet in all that they do. They continue to surpass our expectations with their work ethic and determination, they have overcome so many obstacles this season and have learned to continue to keep moving forward despite it all.”

Overall team results speaks volumes as to the success of this year’s program. At the JV level, Burnet’s boys domi- nated taking first place by more than 50 points. The JV girls also earned team medals finishing third overall.
