A church under scrutiny after a congregant allegedly faked a shooting incident has closed its doors.

After several hours of discussion during its Oct. 27 meeting, the Church at the Epicenter board of directors and elder body decided unanimously to leave Burnet and move the center to another location, yet to be determined.

“It has been a blessing to call Burnet our home for the past 20 years,” Epicenter Apostolic Head Kyle Byrd told the Bulletin. “It has been an honor to serve the region with our prayers and ministry. We consider our time in Burnet County a tremendous success, filled with countless blessings.”
