GOP sweeps election, local voter turnout spikes

Burnet County registered voters turned out in record droves during the recent election. According to unofficial county election records, more than 70% of more than 38,000 registered voters cast ballots during the national, state and local elections which finished during Election Day, Nov.

Burnet County registered voters turned out in record droves during the recent election.

According to unofficial county election records, more than 70% of more than 38,000 registered voters cast ballots during the national, state and local elections which finished during Election Day, Nov. 5.

That is more than 28,000 participants, including absentee, early bird and Election Day voters, County Elections Administrator Doug Ferguson told the Bulletin.
