Open Mic Night at Gathering Grounds Coffee Shop continues to grow each month. Held on the second Saturday at 7:00 p.m., this month’s event brought out several new people who shared music and poetry, in addition to many of the monthly performers.

Newcomers Terri Locke and Kenda Avery opened the evening’s talent. Terri read a heartfelt poem about her late husband and Kenda shared her musical talents. Whitney Goble and Betty Predmore, both monthly participants, shared poetry as well.

The star of this month’s show was Taft Stansel, who was the featured artist. (See photo on Page 1). Taft is a gifted musician who is also a talented songwriter. He performed several original songs, and also shared a few that were familiar to the crowd.
