Lady Dawgs earn tournament championship

The varsity Lady Dawg basketball team recently traveled to Fairfield to compete in a competitive tournament. Burnet’s girls opened day one play by facing the tournament host, Fairfield, who is currently ranked No. 2 in the state in 3A.

The varsity Lady Dawg basketball team recently traveled to Fairfield to compete in a competitive tournament. Burnet’s girls opened day one play by facing the tournament host, Fairfield, who is currently ranked No. 2 in the state in 3A.

In upset fashion Burnet earned their first tourney win beating the Lady Eagles, 53-48. Sydney Lough led with 19, followed by Emma Hashbarger, 14; and Cydney Robison, eight.

On Friday morning Burnet’s girls returned to the court to face Mount Vernon. It was a good game but eventually Burnet came up short, 48-44, to fall to 1-1 in tourna- ment play.
