Janet Lynn Fish Holder passed away peacefully surrounded by family on December 20, 2024, in Llano County. She was born on July 9th, 1955, in Nueces County at Spohn Hospital in Corpus Christi, to Imalouise Fish and Joel Richard Fish.

Jan enjoyed working as an executive assistant to various businesses in Corpus Christi; she loved solving problems and taking care of people. In the mid-1990s, Jan and Jim moved to the Hill Country to pursue construction and land development. Jan went to work for Burnet CISD in the early 2000s where she lovingly served as the high school principal’s secretary supporting hundreds of staff and countless students over the years.

When Jan wasn’t serving her community, she enjoyed taking photos of family, friends, and nature. She had a special place in her heart for the Llano River where she could often be found taking photos, hiking and kayaking. Anna, her beloved golden retriever, loved accompanying Jan on her adventures and cuddling up at home after.

Jan was preceded in death by her loving husband of forty- six years, James Holder, her father, Joel Richard Fish Sr. and brother, Joel Richard Fish Jr.

Jan is survived by her mother, Imalouise Fish, sister, Lois Conovan and husband Jeff, sister-in-law, Jennifer Fish, son, Brian D. Holder and wife Amie and children, Macie and Miles; cherished step-children, Michael Holder and wife Bobbie, Caroline Simpson and late husband ET, Steven Holder and wife Pat, David Voorhies and wife Elaine, Susan Rimpel and husband Mike, and Levi Holder and wife Liz; twenty-five grandchildren, nineteen great-grandchildren and a great-great granddaughter. Jan is survived by numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and lifelong friends.

A celebration of Jan’s life will be held on Sunday, January 5, at the Vanderveer St. Church of Christ in Burnet, Texas. There will be a visitation and a luncheon for family and friends from 12:00pm to 1:30pm in the fellowship hall. The service will begin at 2:00pm in the auditorium, just across from the fellowship hall.

In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to the Hill Country Community Foundation.
