Appointment process released for Burnet County judge

Editor’s Note: The following was provided by Pct. 2 Commissioner Damon Beierle, presiding commissioner of the Burnet County Commissioners Court, in regard to the process the county will follow to select a new county judge.

Special to the Bulletin On January 3, 2025 during a duly noticed Special Meeting of the Burnet County Commissioners Court, the Court accepted the resignation of former Burnet County Judge James Oakley. Pursuant to Texas law, the Commissioners Court has the responsibility to appoint a County Judge to complete the unexpired term created by this resignation. The Burnet County Commissioners Court has created the following process to make that appointment.

1. Applications for Burnet County Judge will open January 3, 2025 and close January 31, 2025 at 12:00PM. All applicants are asked to submit a resume and Burnet County Employment Application.
