Beth was born in Crowley, LA on February 21, 1922 to W.R. and Pauline Bell. She grew up in Crowley, graduated with a bachelor’s degree from the University of Louisiana, and worked as a secretary for the Supreme Rice Mill. Beth married G.T. “Rusty” Walters, a WWII veteran and semi-pro baseball player. They had 2 children, Blake Walters and Sherry Walters Buck.
Beth was a Christian woman, who was very kind and soft-spoken. She loved to read, crochet, oil paint, needle- point, and working in her flower beds and yard. Beth was an amazing cook, with specialties like crawfish etouffee, and gumbo. She loved to travel, visiting with her neighbors, and loved taking care of other people. She was a true caregiver.
This beautiful woman, who lived 102 years, through times like World War II and the Great Depression, handled herself with grace, elegance, and kindness all the way through to 2025. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, brother (R.L. Bell) and sister (Opal Townley). She leaves behind a son, Blake Walters and wife, Joyce; a daughter, Sherry Buck and husband Greg; grandsons, Aaron Buck and wife, Martha, Cody Walters; granddaughter, Krystal Buck Winkler, husband Mickey, and 2 great-granddaughters, Layla and Emmy Winkler. Other survivors include lots of loving nieces and nephews.
The family would like to include a special thanks to Oaks Nursing Home for all the love and care they gave to “Mom”.
