Lifters compete at Badger Invite

On Thursday the Burnet Bulldog and Lady Dawg powerlifting teams traveled North to participate in the Lampasas Badgers Invite. Burnet’s teams did well picking up some gold medals and good team finishes along the way.
Burnet lifter Josie Teague is dominating her class in the sport of powerlifting. Teague beat her closest competitor by over 100 pounds in Lampasas.

On Thursday the Burnet Bulldog and Lady Dawg powerlifting teams traveled North to participate in the Lampasas Badgers Invite. Burnet’s teams did well picking up some gold medals and good team finishes along the way.

On the boy’s side the Bulldogs combined efforts for a second place team finish with 38 points. The host team took first with an impressive total of 65 points, followed by the Dawgs, then San Saba in third, 33 points. Also competing at the event was Fredericksburg, Marble Falls, Llano, and Lometa.

In his second outing in a row Tommy Butler dominated the 123 class. Butler squatted 360 pounds, benched 195, and pulled 335 for an 890 pound first place total. His mark was 145 pounds better than second place in the category.
