Water permit holders restrictions continue

During its first meeting of 2025, the Central Texas Groundwater Conservation District board voted unanimously to maintain the mandatory water reduction of 15% for all non-exempt permits. The five-member board continued the reduction during its Jan.

During its first meeting of 2025, the Central Texas Groundwater Conservation District board voted unanimously to maintain the mandatory water reduction of 15% for all non-exempt permits.

The five-member board continued the reduction during its Jan. 24 meeting in Burnet at district headquarters, 225 S. Pierce Street.

District General Manager Mitchell Sodek reminded board members that because of persistent Stage 4 critical drought worst-case conditions, they approved the mandatory reduction last month.
