Bright week improves soccer standings

It was a great week on the soccer fields for Burnet’s teams. When it was all said and done the Lady Dawgs had taken over as the leader in District 25-4A after beating Jarrell on Tuesday and previously unbeaten in district play Gateway on Friday.

It was a great week on the soccer fields for Burnet’s teams. When it was all said and done the Lady Dawgs had taken over as the leader in District 25-4A after beating Jarrell on Tuesday and previously unbeaten in district play Gateway on Friday.

The boys only had one game last week, but it separated them from Jarrell in second place in 25-4A after Burnet took the 5-1 win. There are still nearly a dozen games remaining to be played in district for both teams, but things are certainly looking bright.

The Lady Dawgs opened with a 3-0 win versus Jarrell on Tuesday. Savannah Griffin pulled off the hat trick for Burnet netting all three goals. She was assisted by Taylor Petty on all three.
