The Burnet County Commissioners Court is set to consider three persons to become the new county judge.

By the Jan. 31 noon deadline for applications, retired 33rd Judicial District of Texas Judge Guilford “Gil” Jones, Burnet County Sheriff Chief Deputy Alan Trevino and former state grant manager and probation officer Bryan Wilson submitted online applications for the position, vacant since the resignation of former Burnet County Judge James Oakley Jan. 2.

Recently, Pct. 1 Commissioner Jim Luther Jr., Pct. 2 Commissioner Damon Beierle, Pct. 3 Commissioner Chad Collier and Pct. 4 Commissioner Joe Don Dockery agreed on the format to select the new county judge by the end of February.
