Dawgs bounce past Stangs to advance in district

The Bulldog basketball teams hosted Lampasas on Tuesday of last week for second round action and traveled to Marble Falls on Friday. In Tuesday’s match the varsity Badgers entered the gym carrying the best record in the district sitting in the top spot with a 10-1 24-4A mark and are 24-8 on the season.

The Bulldog basketball teams hosted Lampasas on Tuesday of last week for second round action and traveled to Marble Falls on Friday. In Tuesday’s match the varsity Badgers entered the gym carrying the best record in the district sitting in the top spot with a 10-1 24-4A mark and are 24-8 on the season.

The Dawgs suffered a 63-39 loss to the visiting Badgers but have secured a playoff spot despite that outcome. On Friday they improved their standing in the district with an outstanding eight point win over the Mustangs. In round one the Dawgs lost to the Stangs by 10 so this was a sweet victory to capture.

On Tuesday Lampasas took a big lead just one quarter in outscoring the Dawgs 17-8 in the opener. By the half it was 28-17.
