Pavilion enhances gathering feature at cemetery

The Mahomet Cemetery Association President, Craig Clark, is pleased to report that construction on the pavilion at the cemetery has been completed. He says that this new 30-by-50 ft.
Mahomet’s cemetery has a new pavilion. Many of the hundreds of people buried at the cemetery are pioneer settlers and descendants as well as veterans of wars dating back to the 1800s. Contributed/Fran Jones

The Mahomet Cemetery Association President, Craig Clark, is pleased to report that construction on the pavilion at the cemetery has been completed.

He says that this new 30-by-50 ft. structure will easily accommodate the 60 to 75 members of the association who usually attend the annual Memorial Day services.

Robert Noland, a past association board president, informs that there are interments dating back as early as the 1850’s.
