Law enforcement stats offer insight into patrols

At the Feb. 2 Burnet City Council meeting, Police Chief Brian Lee presented the department’s 2024 Traffic Stop Report, outlining the department’s compliance with state-mandated data collection on traffic stops. The report, required under Articles 2.132, 2.133, and 2.134 of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, provides insight into how traffic enforcement is conducted in Burnet and includes an analysis of demographic data, search results, and racial profiling complaints.
