Bertram City Council tackling code enforcement issues

The first house in the City of Burnet’s My Town Housing affordable housing project will be built at 1205 E. Live Oak St. The city will have ribbon-cutting ceremony at the site at 4 p.m. Thursday.

At its regular meeting Tuesday evening, Bertram city council members made clear that citizens should be ready for an increase in code enforcement in the future. The vote was tabled until after the budget meeting in August, when the city will have a better idea about how to pay for such enforcement. Currently there is no code enforcement officer on the city payroll.
