Lake Buchanan’s striped bass population replenished

Fisheries biologists from the Texas Parks and Wildlife Department team up with members of the Lake Buchanan Conservation Corporation to keep the lake stocked with striped bass like this one.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department has teamed up again with the Lake Buchanan Conservation Corporation to keep that lake stocked with hybrid striped bass, which cannot breed naturally but are important for the regional economy. Hybrid striped bass are a cross between white bass and striped bass. On July 17, the LBCC released 35,000 hybrid striped bass fingerlings into the lake that is west of Burnet.
