Saying 'adios' to the Burnet Class of 2016

Both the Burnet High School Class of 2016 and the graduating seniors of Quest High school will walk to stage to receive their diplomas in commencement ceremonies scheduled this week.

A total of 42 Quest graduates are expected to turn their tassels and take on the world outside of High School with a 7 p.m. graduation program on Thursday, May 26, at the Burnet High School Auditorium.

Quest High School principal Douglas Marvin as well as other staff and teachers will be on hand to congratulate the mark of a new chapter in these young adults’ lives as well as speak to the graduating class.

Burnet High School will follow with their ceremonial celebration on Friday, May 27 at 7:30 p.m. at the Burnet Bulldog Field.

Speakers during the commencement will include BCISD Superintendent Keith McBurnett as well as Burnet High School Principal Mark Kincaid.

Also scheduled to speak to the crowd during the graduation is 2016 Burnet High School Valedictorian Jill Rosow and Salutatorian Autumn McClinton.

Rosow is the daughter of BJ and Denise Rosow and granddaughter of Ann Drain as well as Adele Rosow.

Rosow known for her sports participation in Softball and Volleyball will continue her education at the University of Texas in Austin.

McClinton is the daughter of Matt and Loretta McClinton and the granddaughter of Mae and Carl Siniard.

McClinton the drum major for the BHS Esprite De Corps has set her sights to a little further from home at the State University of New York for continued education.

The BHS Class of 2016 has stated its official class colors are green, white and black, its class flower is a red rose, its class song is ‘Renegades’ by X Ambassadors and its class motto is ‘Stay Golden’.
