Pups struggle against Mountain Valley

Burnet’s BMS White teams had a tough time last Thursday night against Mountain Valley. The seventh-grade White team lost to the Cougars, 36-6 and the eighth-grade White team fell short , 20-8. As of presstime Green team information was not available.

 

Seventh-grade White

The seventh-grade White Bullpup football team lost to the Cougars of Mountain Valley, 36-6. Mountain Valley took advantage of short-field opportunities as Burnet’s offense struggled for much of the game.

Offensive players of the game were Adrian Hernandez with a 67-yard touchdown run and Dakota Hopkins with a nice 50-yard rush.

The Pups defense had some good plays from Samuel Garcia and Kody Suter who had several behind-the-line tackles.

 

Eighth-grade White

The eighth-grade White team lost to Mountain Valley, 20-8. Burnet’s top defensive players were Adrian Alvarez, Davis Lloyd, Mathew Thrane, Derek Cook, Tyler Patterson, and Jordan Young.

Burnet’s only score of the game came on a Jacob Howard 30-yard rush. He also added the conversion.

Gunner Blair led the receiving category with 50-yards from the passing of Howard.

Maczimus Griego had one reception for 15-yards.

The Pups will start district play next week at China Spring on Thursday.
