Alvarez named Rotary Student of the Month

Malory Alvarez has been named the Rotary Student of the Month for February. Malory has distinguished herself to be an amazing leader at Burnet High School.  Malory is a captain for the Burnet High School varsity cheer squad, and led BHS cheer to their national bid at the UCA southwest regional competition.  Malory led the squad at the UIL state spirit competition in January in which the squad placed 27th out of 71 in crowd leading cheer.  This year Malory represented Burnet in London for the Varsity All American Cheerleaders where she performed at the London New Year’s Day Parade.    Along with cheer Malory is involved with many organizations at BHS.  Malory is a part of the Spirit, Pride and Honor leadership team an organization that promotes student leadership and works with the incoming freshman classes.  She is on the golf team and went to state her sophomore year. Malory has belonged to the National Honors Society for three years and is currently the recording secretary.  Malory is also the secretary for Future Business Leaders.   Malory has been able to accomplish this while maintaining an A average and being ranked 7th in her class. In what little spare time she has Malory likes to paint and embroider.  Malory will be attending the University of Texas in the fall and majoring in business.   Upon graduation she would like to stay in Austin while traveling and helping to encourage girls to further their education.
