District 19-4A going deep into playoffs

All District selections for 19-4A baseball and softball are still not available to be released due to lengthy playoff runs by several teams in our district.
As of last week Liberty Hill and Salado were both still active with upcoming Regional Quarterfinal games. Liberty Hill was scheduled to play China Spring, and Salado had Robinson in their sights for the weekend, weather permitting.
The baseball playoff started with Liberty Hill, Lampasas, Salado, and Taylor representing 19-4A. Three of those teams advanced with bi-district championships. Those included Liberty Hill, who defeated Navasota in a single game elimination, 8-2; Salado, who beat Caldwell in two games, 14-2 and 6-2; and Taylor, who defeated La Grange in two games, 4-1 and 4-0.
Lampasas was put-out in the first round by Giddings. The Badgers won game two, 8-3 but dropped games one and three, 8-2 and 2-1.
In the Area round of play Taylor’s season came to an end with a loss to Robinson in two, 5-2 and 11-4.
The Liberty Hill Panthers extended their season after beating Madisonville, 8-0 and 2-0. The Mustangs did get a win over Liberty Hill in game two, 5-2 marking the Panthers only loss in the playoffs thus far.
Salado moved on from Area with a single game win over Athens, 4-3.
On the softball side of the bracket Liberty Hill is the only 19-4A team to advance all the way to the Regional Semifinals. They were scheduled to face Little Cypress-Mauriceville over the weekend. Other Regional Semifinals from Region I and III included Lorena, Bridge City, Andrews, Graham, Fort Stockton, and Vernon.
When Bi-District play began 19-4A was represented by Liberty Hill, Taylor, Salado, and Lampasas. Only Liberty Hill and Salado advanced past the first round.
Taylor was defeated in two by La Grange, 6-1 and 11-2.
Giddings beat Lampasas in two, 10-5 and 13-4.
Liberty Hill advance to Area after a best of three series over Smithville. The Lady Panthers got it done in two games, 12-1 and 13-0.
Salado defeated Caldwell in a best of three series, 2-1, with wins in games two and three, 4-3 and 12-11. They dropped the opener, 8-3.
The Lady Panthers also easily walked through Area over Athens, 10-0 and 14-1.
Salado needed all three games to advance. After falling 7-6 in the opener they rebounded with 6-1 and 3-2 wins over Hillsboro.
In Regional Quarterfinal play Liberty Hill defeated Robinson in an single elimination game, 2-0 to keep their season alive.
Salado lost to Lorena in a single elimination contest, 6-1 which ended their season.
The UIL State softball tournament is scheduled for May 31-June 3 at Red and Charlie McCombs Field on the University of Texas at Austin campus.
The Baseball State Tournament is scheduled for June 7-10 at Dell Diamond and UFCU Disch-Falk.
