It is with great sadness that the family of Patton C. Hudson of Buchanan Dam, Texas, announces his passing on Jan. 28, 2018, at the age of 86.
Born to the late Gertrude and Clyde Lee Hudson on Jan. 11, 1932, in Houston, Pat grew up in Hearne, Texas, where he was active in athletics, band, FFA, and Boy Scouts of America, ultimately achieving the esteemed level of Eagle Scout. A member of the Kappa Alpha fraternity, Pat graduat- ed with a bachelor’s of science in geology from the University of Texas at Austin in 1955, subsequently joining the Navy. Commissioned a naval aviator assigned to the USS Ranger,  flying AD-1 Skyraiders, Pat proudly served both as an active duty and reserve member until his retirement from service at the rank of commander.
In 1969, Pat met and married his beloved wife, Mary Catherine “Micki.” Together they raised their family throughout Texas, prior to realizing their dream of owning a lakefront home, which became the focal point for countless gatherings and celebrations creating fond memories for both dear friends and family. Passionate about music, Pat was a member of a barbershop quartet and several choral groups singing with a sincerity resonating through his powerful deep bass vocals. A devoted and active member of Trinity Episcopal Church, Pat served as lay reader, choir member, senior warden, and verger for over 20 years.
Preceded in death by his cherished wife Micki, Pat is survived by his sister, Jane Hudson Gallaher; children Deborah Hudson Setzer, Patton C. Hudson Jr., Sharon Lee Hudson, Julie Diane Hudson, Paul Clyde Hudson; grandchildren Megan, Jonathon, Ian and Connor; and three great grandchildren.
A celebration of life will be held at 1 p.m. April 21 at Trinity Episcopal Church in Marble Falls, Texas.
