Clara Faye Roten of Burnet, Texas, passed away Wednesday, March 7, 2018 at the age of 79. She was born Jan. 13, 1939 to Willie Eloise (Kennedy) and Halley Curtis Jernigan in Brownwood Texas.

Clara Faye is survived by daughter Lana Kay Kennedy of Atoka, Oklahoma; stepdaughter Marie Baker of Bertram; sons Michael Lyons and wife Debbie of Burnet, and Tim Lyons and wife Cricket of Burnet; stepsons Paul Roten of Dripping Springs and Jeffery Roten of Corpus Christi; 20 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and a great-great-grandchild.

She is preceded in death by husband George Roten; parents Halley and Eloise Jernigan; son J.B. “Buddy” Lyons Jr.; stepdaughter Valarie Welch; stepgranddaughter Erin Ellison; sisters Billie Wright and Mary Beth Stephens; and brother Curtis Jernigan.

Faye was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Faye enjoyed hunting and fishing and most any activity in the outdoors. One of her favorite activities was going for a drive in the country. She was an avid crafter. She enjoyed painting her gourds as well as landscapes and nature scenes. She was an excellent cook as well as baker. She enjoyed making candy with the kids and grandkids during the holidays. Faye worked in several occupations during her career. She was in food service as well as property management among other things. Faye had a kind heart and would help anybody when asked. Faye will be missed by her family and many friends.

Memorial services will be held Saturday, April 7, at 2 p.m. at East Lake Fellowship Church. The church is located at 13218 RR 2341, Burnet.

In lieu of flowers the family has asked that you make a donation to an Alzheimer research foundation of your choice.
