Shirley was born in Andice, Texas, on Feb. 28, 1936, to her late parents, Raymond and Lorraine Walton.

She grew up in Georgetown, Texas, where she met the love of her life. Shirley and Wilber met at the age of 15 and 18 at a Halloween party in 1951 and they both said it was love at first sight! On June 20, 1953, Wilber came home from Army boot camp and they married two days later. They were married for 63 years before Wilber passed. Shirley was a homemaker and a caregiver and was compassionate and loving. She loved a good joke and was full of life, and often referred to as the Energizer Bunny. She was the matriarch and lifeline to the entire family. She was an animal lover, especially dogs. She loved to laugh, shop, dance, clean closets, cook food for everyone, put together different outfits with coordinating accessories, watch her soaps, talk on the phone and play solitaire. Shirley was our beloved Mom, Nanny, Aunt, sister-in-law and friend to so many and will be so very missed every day until we see her again in Heaven.

Shirley is preceded in death by her husband, Wilber Roberts; brother, Tommy Walton; and son in law, John Lancaster.
