Charles "Ken" Kennedy Warden, 83, passed away on Jan. 1, 2019.

His funeral service will be at 10 a.m., Saturday, Jan. 5, at Vanderveer St. Church of Christ with interment to follow at Burnet City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. Friday evening at the funeral home.

Ken was born on Jan. 11, 1935, to Arnold W. and Susie Warden in Burnet, Texas. He attended school in Burnet and after graduating Burnet High School he went on to run an Exxon Station in Llano with his brother A.W. Ken signed up to serve his country in the Army Reserves and soon after met the love of his life, his wife, Johnnie Beth. He was then given the opportunity to run an Exxon Station in Burnet with his brother and then later on a full service Texaco on the corner of US 281 and Texas 29 from 1963-2000.

Ken was elected and served on the Burnet ISD School Board and was very active in the community. He always enjoyed the Bluebonnet Festival and was also an active member of the Burnet Chamber of Commerce. He had numerous ranch leases and ran the family ranch all of his life. He was also known to enjoy a good auction.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Johnnie Beth; parents, Arnold and Susie Warden; sister, Beulah Koenings and her husband Art; brother-in-law, Bob Weber; sister, Mildred Savage and her husband Jim.

Ken is survived by his children, Charles Kennedy Warden Jr., John Allen Warden and his wife Connie; granddaughter, Acia Warden-Talamantez and her husband Matthew and son Hudson; grandson, Colt Winchester Warden; sister, Eula; brother A. W. Warden and his wife Esther as well as many nieces and nephews.
