Richard was born on Oct.11, 1965, to Tomas Lopez Gonzales and Mary Louise (Schilling) Lopez in Kerrville, Texas. He could fix anything you put in his hands and most around him knew it. He maintained a resort on Lake Buchanan for 12 plus years and there was little to nothing that would require other’s assistance. Richard worked in the construction field but later came back around to lake life, building boat docks. He loved to hunt and fish and if he was not busy with those, he would be watching his Texas Longhorns and Dallas Cowboys play football. He cherished the time he spent with his family and friends and playing with his grandbabies, and if he was not with his grandchildren, he was busy with his dogs, Sooner and Taco. He loved to spend time with his wife Dona where they were always on the go painting, remodeling and doing odd jobs that kept them busy. His wife called him “Mr. Fix-it”, and if it was broken and almost impossible to fix, he would find a way. Richard loved to joke and always kept everyone laughing, his favorite show was Live PD and would watch it weekly. He was very involved with his children and loved to coach baseball, softball, tee-ball and basketball.

He is preceded in death by his father, Tomas Lopez Gonzales; his mother, Mary Louise (Schilling) Lopez and brothers, Charles Hensley and David Hensley.
