Billy Joe Burns, 54, of Burnet, passed away at home March 7, 2019.

A memorial is scheduled for Thursday, March 14, at First Baptist Church Bertram at 2 p.m. Pastor Gordon R. Bergstrom will officiate the service.

All are welcome to attend and celebrate Billy’s life.

He was born to Nathan Wayne Burns Sr. and Patricia Lee Jackson on Sept. 22, 1964, in Burnet. Billy is survived by his mother, Pat Jackson of Bertram, Jack Jackson, of Burnet; brother, Nathan Burns and wife Janet of Bertram; and sister, Rhonda Pack of Burnet. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Billy is preceded in death by his father, Nathan Burns Sr.

Billy graduated from Burnet High School in 1984. He primarily lived and worked in Burnet County his entire life. He made customers smile with his jokes and fun-loving personality. Billy enjoyed spending time with family, especially doing things with the younger generation. The kids and Billy had great fun playing together whether indoors or out. He liked spending time with his dogs and was a movie buff. Billy was very easy going and a joy to be around.

Billy became a Christian as a teenager and the family is comforted to know he is healed and
whole in the arms of the Lord today.
