William Leroy Ellett

August 28, 1926 — September 21, 2019

William Leroy Ellett passed away Saturday, Sept. 21, 2019.

Leroy was born Aug. 28, 1926 and was preceded in death by his wife Edna Mobolene Richards Ellett.

Leroy and Mobie were known to take in and care for many children over the course of their married life: daughters, Rene Mobley (husband Phil) of Dalhart, Hope Reyes of Killeen, Elizabeth Strmiska (husband James) of Chandler, Arizona, Amanda Parker (husband David) of Burnet; grandchildren, Veluska Reyes, Garrison Strmiska, Josiah, Kayla and Lesha Parker, Jered, Bret and PJ Mobley and many more. Leroy is also survived by his sister-in-law, Carol Richards Freeman; and brother-in-law, Billy Don Weaver of Marble Falls; and brother-in-law, Roger Crowder of Burnet. Plus numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

Leroy spent most of his life in Burnet and has had several careers throughout his life, but he is mostly known for being a homebuilder.

Leroy was a friend to anyone and everyone.

One of the things that we will miss about Leroy is he always had a story. I wished he had written a book for all the stories that he told from childhood on up; he could definitely keep us laughing.

Leroy and Mobie loved to dance! Leroy did not dance before he met Mobie and after that, they were always known to hit different cities throughout the week and weekend and dance until the clubs closed.

Visitation will be held Wednesday, Sept. 25 from 6 – 8 p.m. at Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet.

Funeral service will be Thursday, Sept. 26, 2019 at 1 p.m. at Christian Worship Center at 879 RR 3404 Kingsland with Travis. Interment to follow at Burnet City Cemetery

Care has been entrusted to Clements-Wilcox Funeral Home in Burnet.
