Warren L. Knutsen

June 18, 1938 — January 7, 2020

Warren L. Knutsen, 81, passed away peacefully in his home in Burnet, Texas, on Jan. 7, 2020. Warren was born in Duluth, Minnesota on June 18, 1938, not coincidentally the same date the first-ever Superman story was published. At the age of five, Warren overheard a doctor telling his mother that asthma would take his life before he turned 50. The doctor had no idea how strong (or stubborn) Warren could be.

Warren is preceded in death by his father and mother, Leonard and Helen Knutsen; and by his siblings, Joan Sandy, Gregory Knutsen, and Jeffrey Knutsen. He is survived by his adoring family: wife, Barbara Knutsen (neé Roberts), 78; sons, Robert, 53, James, 51, and Thomas, 48; and grandchildren, Joshua, 29, Zachary, 26, Holly, 21, Zoe, 19, Jackson, 16, Brady, 14, and Colton, 11.

Warren was an avid tennis player and golfer; loved a good game of bridge, and dancing the Twist. He taught his sons to waterski, throw a football, and keep their word. He had a quick wit, an infectious laugh, and an unwavering devotion to his family. He also loved to beat the traffic.

Warren was a man of deep and quiet faith, at peace, and ready to rest in the arms of his savior. His memorial service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, Feb. 1, at Hill Country Fellowship, 200 Houston Clinton Drive, Burnet, Texas, 78611.

In lieu of flowers, Warren's family asks that donations be sent to Hill Country Fellowship, 200 Houston Clinton Drive, Burnet, or the charity of your choice.
