BCISD announces two-week closure for COVID-19 prevention

As you know, a number of public school districts in central Texas have announced two-week closures to help prevent the spread of COVID-19.

In Burnet CISD, students are scheduled to return from Spring Break on Monday, March 23. However, we are aware that many have traveled within and outside of the United States on vacation, including to areas with known COVID-19 community spread.

For this reason, and in response to President Trump’s “15 Days to Slow the Spread” advisement, Burnet CISD will be suspending normal school operations March 23-April 3, along with the cancellation of all UIL events, extracurricular activities, rentals, and school events during the same period.

We will reevaluate the situation at the end of this school closure before making any other long-term announcements. This reevaluation will include any school-sponsored events after April 3. …
