Llano man on trial for sex assault

A Llano man will begin trial on Monday, Aug. 4 on charges of sexual assault of his biological and step daughters. Richard Willis Blackburn, 29, was indicted on charges of continuous sexual abuse of a child after his daughter told a school counselor about the incident on April 3, 2013. The girl was nine years old at the time of alleged abuse.

Construction starts on affordable homes

The City of Burnet will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony Thursday to commemorate start of construction on the first house of multi-home project designed to create more affordable housing in the city. The ceremony will be at 4 p.m. at 1205 Live Oak St. The foundation for the first home already has been constructed at the site and Burnet City Manager David Vaughn said he hopes that construction will start one three or four others in the same area soon.
