Dawgs open district Friday at Taylor

By Wayne Craig

With their pre-district games behind them the Bulldogs will focus on Taylor this week. Burnet will play their first District 25-4A basketball game on Friday night at the home of the Taylor Ducks. The Ducks are always an unpredictable team; they have numerous athletes year after year but at times have struggled to play as teams which often costs them. The Bulldogs have had their own share of setbacks this season, including injuries; they are hoping they can quickly get everyone on board for what will be a tough road of district competition.

Lampasas slips past Lady Dawgs, 37-36

By Wayne Craig

The Lady Bulldog basketball team opened district play last Friday night on the road in Lampasas. The game started out as a tough defensive battle and with 4:30 left in the first quarter it was still a scoreless match. Burnet finally broke the stalemate with buckets by Katelyn Pool and Riley Scott and nearing the end of the first the Lady Dawgs had a 5-1 lead, but that’s when the game seemed to shift.
