By Wayne Craig

The Lady Bulldog basketball team opened district play last Friday night on the road in Lampasas. The game started out as a tough defensive battle and with 4:30 left in the first quarter it was still a scoreless match. Burnet finally broke the stalemate with buckets by Katelyn Pool and Riley Scott and nearing the end of the first the Lady Dawgs had a 5-1 lead, but that’s when the game seemed to shift.

A look back at the Burnet Bulldogs of 2014

By Wayne Craig

What a year 2014 was in Bulldog territory. There were numerous groups that made the playoffs and went far beyond the Bi-District round. Burnet had a state swimmer, a state tennis team, a 7 on 7 team that competed at state, state cross country runners and the Esprit de Corp took it all the way to the big show. Like most year’s their were some good and bad headlines. Controversy marred the papers a few times. The town mourned the passing of Ramsey Clinton, Ed Abernathy and a couple of young people who lost their lives way to soon.
